Juicing Information

We have all heard of the advantages of eating fresh fruits and vegetables; but how many of us understand that there are different ways to consume them to get their fullest benefits?  When you hear a medical program that tells you that you should eat fresh fruits and vegetables, do you think of Juicing?  Well, you should.  Juices are the best way to get the maximum benefits from your fruits and vegetables in the shortest time period.

When you cook your vegetables you lose a lot of the minerals and nutrients that are beneficial to you.  Remember, you want to get everything that you can out of your ingredients.  This is where juicing comes in.  When you have fresh juice you are getting the full potential of your ingredients and can tailor them to your individual needs.  Although eating the fresh vegetables is good, when juicing, the nourishment is delivered across the intestinal walls and into your system much faster.  This is because they bypass the digestive system, therefore leaving more of the minerals and nutrients intact.  You need to juice to get the fastest results.  You will actually feel the personal effects much faster.

Juicing not only increases your energy level, it also delays the aging process and lets you live not only a longer, but also, a healthier life.  This is because when you juice, you preserve a lot of the antioxidants found in the fruits and vegetables.  These antioxidants combat the effects of free radicals in your system, thereby helping to keep your muscles toned and your skin more wrinkle free.  This is because a lot of the nutritional value of these foods is reduced by the cooking process.  Have you ever noticed how different a cooked vegetable tastes than a fresh one?  If so, you will probably be surprised to find out how much fresher, and refreshing, juice is over the raw vegetables or fruit itself.

Juicing also has many positive medical advantages.  It can be used in both a preventive program and a remedial program.   Problems such as blood pressure, weight control can be, if not remedied, at least curbed by choosing ingredients that combat the effects of the disease.  Beetroot is one of the best sources of vitamins and minerals for lowering blood pressure.  The contributing factor is it’s concentration of Vitamins A, B, and C along with calcium, magnesium and potassium.  It is also rich in antioxidant and fiber.  Beetroot contains high nitrate amounts that may convert to nitric oxide when in contact with saliva. Nitric oxide dilates blood vessels and lowers blood pressure.  It’s interesting to note that while you are juicing to improve your blood pressure, you will at the same time be contributing to your weight loss program.  These items often go hand in hand.  Vegetables are low in fat and calories so while you are treating your blood pressure, you are also consuming fewer calories and less fat, a very pleasant side effect indeed.

Remember that you have the final say in what ingredients you use and that half of the fun is the search for.  Be creative when making your juice recipes. Pick things that you like and think up new combinations that are not only tasty but will also help you to achieve your end goals.
